UFC fans concerned after worrying footage of Conor McGregor in Dublin emerges (2025)

A video of Conor McGregor enjoying a night out in Dublin has prompted concerns among some UFC fans.

The 36-year-old hasn't entered the octagon since his loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 back in 2021. He was all fired up for a return bout against Michael Chandler last year, but an injury extended the wait for McGregor's comeback. Even though he's spent time away from the UFC, McGregor has not been out of the spotlight.

Last month, he jetted off to Washington to meet with US President Donald Trump at the White House and has voiced his desire to venture into Irish politics. However, some UFC fans are concerned that McGregor's partying could impact the remaining years of his fighting career.

The popular 'NELK Boys' YouTube channel dropped footage chronicling their flight to Ireland for a St. Patrick's Day bash, where they met up with McGregor. The former two-weight UFC champion hosted the group at his Black Forge Inn in Dublin.

He greeted them joyfully in typical McGregor fashion, exclaiming: "My hell, you lads are here early." McGregor was seen singing a short burst of Robbie Williams' hit 'Angels', before downing a pint of his Forged Irish Stout.

The UFC icon taught the Nelk Boys the art of pouring stout and even let them hold one of his esteemed UFC belts. As the evening wound down, the Nelk Boys shared a heartfelt hug with McGregor, who then offered the social media sensations a round of tequila rose.

However, while McGregor's partying might be a hit with some of his followers, there's growing concern among some about his lifestyle away from the octagon. One fan commented: "Actually so sad to see Conor McGregor in this state."

A second fan wrote: "I'm actually worried about him. A life of partying and drinking doesn't usually last very long." A third fan remarked: "Old Conor would hate this new Conor."

A fourth person claimed: "He's not the same person anymore. Neither physically or personality-wise." A fifth fan concluded: "A far cry from the inspirational and focused individual we saw years ago. He's achieved great things but I don't see a person who is happy with his lot."

McGregor's current UFC contract only has two fights left, and he hinted at retirement during a recent BKFC media event. "I've got two fights on the contract; I'm in negotiations," he explained.

"Last week something happened to me, I went to the White House and my heart bleeds for my country right now. So there's a lot of stuff going on back home, I'm happy with what I've done. There's something else for me that's in my gut right now and that's kind of where I'm going.'

'However, McGregor later suggested that winning the Irish election wouldn't deter him from returning to the UFC. When asked if he could balance fighting and presidency simultaneously, he replied: "F****** right I will, of course, are you crazy?

"That's part of why I want to do it! To be announced as the President of Ireland while having a fight? Imagine that. But for sure, hell yeah, hell yes. ".
